Every April Nick and I wait for a Northeast blow and hunt for Bluefish from the surf. For three years in a row we have gotten it right. Today we had insane fishing with Bluefish and Stripers on every single cast. It only took us 2 hours to run out of bait and tonight my arms are sore. Our final tally was around 25 Bluefish and this one beautiful 34" Striper. Bluefish are out of their minds, one big bruiser swallowed Nick's 6oz. sinker. We released the fish with the lead in his belly. Check out some video.

Killer Striper fishing 4-11
I fished today in Trenton with my buddy Rick "Archie" Roche and we had an absolutely stellar day. We boated over 30 (!) Stripers to 25 lbs and left them biting. The herring were so thick you could probably walk across the river on them and we had an easy time making bait. The action was pretty much non-stop from 6am until noon. This was one of those days that only comes along once in a long while. Archie had the biggest fish at 39 inches and we released them all to swim another day.
If you plan on fishing the river in the Trenton area, know the rules and regulations. We were stopped and checked out by 3 different agencies today, the Trenton police (who wanted $25 to use their ramp, unbelievable), the NJ state police marine patrol, and NJ Fish and Game, who checked us for licenses, herring limits, circle hooks, and illegally kept Bass. Obviously we were in compliance with all the above but I think a lot of tickets were written today from what I could tell. Just a bit of advice.
