With the marine forecast looking kinda crappy, and the onslaught of Memorial Day boat traffic soon to come, we decided to break the inlet at first light this morning. I had a not so good feeling about today's trip, call it a hunch but the fishing has just been too good for too long. With Ween going on tour tomorrow I just had to get one last fix of these big fish before my flight tomorrow morning. Well, my hunch was totally wrong and we had a doubleheader on the first drift. These fish were big slobs as you can see in the pictures. We boated 7 or 8 fish in about 2 1/2 hours and then bailed out victorious. We had at least as many run-offs so there was a lot of action. Not to name any names (John Marcus), but one of my guys cancelled today because he was too much of a wuss to wake up at 4am. He probably thinks he can catch 40lb Stripers from his couch on days when it's convenient for him. The fish were out in 60 feet of water today in front of Asbury Park.

Big Ass Bass in Cape May 5-17
Yesterday I had Shayne and his buddies fishing with me aboard the Clean Sweep in Cape May. It took a while to find the fish but once we found them it was game on. These fish were both spawned out, and full of eggs. The spring of 2010 continues to amaze.

The soon to be legendary Spring of 2010 continues!
I am pleased to announce the newest edition to the fleet, my new 23' Center Console Jones Brothers boat, "Archangel." It took about a year to find the boat I was looking for and yesterday we christened her in style by catching over 30 Striped Bass into the mid-40 lb. range. The fishing has been absolutely sick this spring. If you'd like to book a trip I have some available dates left but they will not last. Check out www.mickeysfishing.com for more info.
