Bass, Blues, and Cod!
One incredibly bizarre day of fishing that had it all--Big Bass, Big Blues, Whales (again), and a giant Cod (!) Today I had Scott and Bill on the Archangel and we saw and caught a little bit of everything. The highlight for sure though was when Bill laid into what I thought was a huge Striper, I was shocked as hell to see a MONSTER Cod come up into my net. This gorgeous fish took an Ava 17 jig with a bare trailer hook and is feeding many people tonight. Great day of fishing with about 10 Bass finding their way to the deck. I have decided to extend my season a couple more weeks due to the great fishing we've been experiencing. If you're interested please let me know as soon as possible, don't miss out on this great bite.

Bass, Blues, Whales.
Today I had Mike Montrose and company on my boat and it was an interesting day on the water. The ocean was downright nasty with a hard wind cranking out of the southeast. The waves were stacked on top of one another and we couldn't really go any faster than 15 knots without getting pounded and soaked, which ended up happening anyway. The ocean wasn't any calmer tight to the beach and I was thinking about calling off the trip and trying another day. The guys were up for anything so I decided to stick it out and I'm glad that we did because we ended up putting a pretty nice catch together despite the conditions. The highlight of the day came when a gigantic whale (like the size of my house) surfaced about 20 feet off our bow and spouted. I almost had a heart attack, he just came out of nowhere and the boat suddenly looked pretty damn small. We had to fight through a lot of spiny dogfish today but we finished with a lot of gigantic bluefish and this nice
Bass that took Mike's AVA 47 jig.

Big Ass Bass
After a couple of months of small baitfish today we found massive
schools of Bunker up and down the beach. Big bait means big fish and
today we had some beauties including this 35 lb. class Bass taken by
Ian. It seems to be getting better every day.

More Bass and Blues
Another killer day of fishing, maybe one of the best of the Fall so far. Rods were bent for the full 8 hours of the trip and the Bass we caught were bigger today. As usual, the bluefish kept us very busy, you had to fight through the blues to get to the Bass, but the action was non-stop. I had to take breaks just to be able to finish a cigarette because once the jigs were in the water you were hooked up. Brian and Zak were my charter today and they flew in from Colorado. These guys are experienced anglers and they did a great job on the fish.

Hot Bite Today
Stellar fishing today with Matt and Jesse, doubleheader and tripleheader hookups all through the day with a nice balanced mix of Bass and Bluefish. There was a small craft advisory in effect this morning and I was hoping to just make it out of the inlet. The incredible fishing we got was way beyond my expectations, I was more concerned with just getting out there and getting some lines in the water. Instead it was a beautiful day on the water with a large swell and manic New Jersey Fall fishing at it's best. We are all gonna have sore arms tonight as it was pretty steady combat fishing all afternoon. Hopefully we get some nicer weather this week as the fishing seems to be getting better each time we can make it out. Great job guys.

Big Seas, good fishing.
Had Rick and Joe out today for Rick's 21st birthday and we managed to find him some birthday Bass. We also had some more big Bluefish. Fishing was pretty slow until the tide changed over and then we had steady action. Seas were rough as all hell in the morning. After the weather this week it will be really nice to fish in calmer waters again at some point, we definitely deserve a break.

Good fishing today
My guys today were Eric and Brent and they flew in from Kentucky to catch some Striped Bass. Faced with a small craft warning and projected 6-8 foot seas we decided to take our chances and it paid off. Fishing action was good with both Stripers and monster Bluefish in the mix. The swells were every bit of 6 feet though and at times it felt like being on a rollercoaster out there. I think the good fishing action was the only thing that kept them from getting sick but they did an awesome job nonethless. Tonight they are eating bass for dinner.

Overdue fishing report
I'm sorry I have been slow in updating this site, it's not from a lack of fishing, just a lack of sleep. I have been sailing every day and catching a lot of fish. Mostly monster Bluefish, I mean really big jumbo motherfuckers. Also, Sea Bass season is back open and there are a lot of big'uns around as well. I don't know where the Striped Bass are, but the main body of the run hasn't come through my fishing grounds just yet. We've had a pretty slow pick at them so far with mostly smallish fish. There is plenty of time for that to change though and I have no doubt that it will. Here is a mixed bag of pictures from the past two weeks.
